Omar Marmoush: Manchester City Eye Eintracht Frankfurt Star, Club Sets £67M Price Tag

Manchester City have expressed their desire to acquire Eintracht Frankfurt forward Omar Marmoush without delay. However, the German side has set a steep price tag of £67 million (€80 million) for the 25-year-old striker.

As there is no release clause in Marmoush’s contract, Eintracht Frankfurt is expected to reject offers that fall significantly below their asking price. Currently, City and Marmoush's representatives consider a transfer fee in the range of £42 million to £50 million (€50-€60 million) to be more reasonable. Despite this, negotiations between the two clubs have yet to commence.

Marmoush, who is versatile enough to play across the entire front line, has been in excellent form this season. He has netted 13 goals in the Bundesliga, trailing only Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane in the scoring charts. Across all competitions, Marmoush has scored 18 goals, making him second only to Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah for goal contributions in Europe’s top five leagues.

Manchester City Open Talks with Palmeiras Over Vitor Reis

In another transfer pursuit, Manchester City have initiated discussions with Palmeiras regarding Vitor Reis, a highly regarded 18-year-old center-back. The young Brazilian, under contract with Palmeiras until 2028, has caught City’s eye after making 22 appearances and scoring two goals last season.

Reis also captained Brazil’s U17 squad during the 2023 U17 World Cup. However, South American football expert Tim Vickery has expressed doubts about Reis’s readiness for the Premier League. Vickery notes that while Reis shows promise, he still needs to develop physically and would struggle against the physicality of Premier League football at this stage.

Palmeiras, keen to retain Reis for their upcoming Club World Cup campaign, are reportedly reluctant to part ways with the defender in the immediate future.

In contrast, Italian clubs have an earlier deadline, with their window closing at 7 PM on Saturday, February 1. Meanwhile, the Turkish transfer market will remain open until Tuesday, February 11, and Saudi Arabian clubs have until January 30 to finalize their deals.
